SCTDK is a ready-to-run OpenFlow 1.3 quick start development kit that enables OEMs to quickly evaluate, develop and deploy innovative new SDN devices serving high-performance 10G and 40G applications. SCTDK helps deliver on the promise of SDN white boxes in leading-edge applications.
SCTDK is based ADI Engineering’s Seacliff Trail reference platform for the Intel Ethernet Switch FM6000 family (formerly codenamed Alta) and LINC, an open source implementation of the latest version (1.3) of the OpenFlow standard, which is available for free under the commercially friendly Apache 2 License at www.FlowForwarding.org.
SCTDK features the Intel FM6764 Ethernet switch, Intel Xeon Processor E3-1105C control plane CPU, 48x 10G SFP+ ports, and 4x 40G QSFP+ ports. The kit comes with LINC pre-installed, and is ready for OpenFlow/SDN evaluation, customization and deployment. When needed, ADI Engineering is available to rapidly develop and manufacture fully-productized OEM derivatives of SCTDK, including higher performing CPUs, integrated high-performance storage, and other features.
ADI backs SCTDK with our Open IP model of customer design ownership and production control. Customers can purchase SCTDK development kits from ADI for initial experimentation, evaluation, development and testing, and then engage us to develop customized derivatives (when necessary), and manufacture privately-branded versions of SCTDK or derivative designs in volume. Open IP also empowers ADI customers with the option of building directly with their own preferred factories.
