GSDK is a ready-to-run entry-level quick start OpenFlow 1.3 development kit that enables OEMs to immediately evaluate, develop and deploy entirely new classes of gigabit and Wi-Fi SDN/OpenFlow products in cost-sensitive applications such as embedded, industrial, energy, small/medium enterprise, and military/aerospace. GSDK helps enable SDN adoption outside the data center and deliver on the promise of SDN white boxes in innovative but underserved applications
GSDK is based ADI Engineering’s RCC reference platform for the Intel Atom Processor C2000 family (formerly codenamed Rangeley) and LINC, an open source implementation of the latest version (1.3) of the OpenFlow standard, which is available for free under the commercially friendly Apache 2 License atwww.FlowForwarding.org.
GSDK features the 8-core 2.4 GHz Intel Atom C2758 processor, 8x Gb Ethernet ports, 2x 10Gb Ethernet ports, 802.11n Wi-Fi AP and client functionality, and extensive PCIe, SATA and USB connectivity. The kit comes with LINC pre-installed, and is ready for OpenFlow/SDN evaluation, customization and deployment over 10G/1G Ethernet and Wi-Fi. When needed, ADI Engineering is available to rapidly develop and manufacture fully-productized OEM derivatives of GSDK, including extended temperature, fanless, and ruggedized SDN devices.
ADI backs GSDK with our Open IP model of customer design ownership and production control. Customers can purchase GSDK development kits from ADI for initial experimentation, evaluation, development and testing, and then engage us to develop customized derivatives (when necessary), and manufacture privately-branded versions of GSDK or derivative designs in volume. Open IP also empowers ADI customers with the option of building directly with their own preferred factories.
