Overview

ADI Engineering’s RCC is a production-ready Mini-ITX reference platform based on the Intel® Atom™ Processor C2000 Family (Rangeley) that helps OEMs speed innovative entry-level SDN and OpenFlow, network security, and communications products to market.  Software support includes AMI BIOS, Yocto and Fedora Linux, Intel Data Plane Development Kit (DPDK), and the open-source LINC OpenFlow 1.3 soft switch.

ADI offers the RCC platform as a development kit and a custom-branded volume OEM board or turnkey system. We can also rapidly customize RCC hardware and software (including its freely available OpenFlow 1.3 implementation) to specific OEM requirements ranging from simple reconfiguration  to full customization.  ADI quickly scales RCC-based OEM products to volume production under our “Open IP” model with quick time to market, customer optional design ownership and complete production control.

With the Intel Atom C2000 family processor, two 10Gbps and four 1Gbps Ethernet ports, dual-channel DDR3 memory with ECC, and extensive PCIe, SATA, and USB connectivity, RCC supports high-performance communications and networking applications in a 170x170mm Mini-ITX form factor. RCC development kits come with the Intel C2758 processor (8 core, 2.4 GHz), but the RCC design supports the entire C2000 family of processors including 2 core (C2338, C2358), 4 core (C2518, C2538, C2558), and 8 core variants (C2718, C2738, C2758) and can be built with any C2000 family processor in OEM production.  ADI can also deliver fanless versions of RCC and also ruggedized, extended temperature custom derivative products.

ADI backs RCC with our Open IP model of customer design ownership and production control. Customers can purchase RCC development kits from ADI for initial evaluation, development and testing, when necessary engage us to develop customized derivatives, and manufacture privately-branded versions of RCC or derivative designs in volume.  ADI customers also have the option of building directly with their own preferred factories.
